Their blooms show soft blush, pink, white, peach, or red. Knowing these types helps you pick peonies for your garden.
Planting Guides for a Good Start
The season of planting means much. Plant potted peonies in fall. Plant tubers then too. Find a sunny spot and give room. They need space to grow 3 to 4 feet in height and width.
Mix compost with the soil when you plant. Do not bury the crown too deep. A light cover of 1 to 2 inches works best.
Caring for Peonies
After they grow, peonies need little care. In early spring or after blooms, add a bit of fertilizer. Each year, add a layer of compost and mulch. Keep mulch off the stems to stop rot.
